Using one lens and a light splitting prism, three separate rolls of black & white film, housed in the Mickey Mouse's ear-shaped magazine, were exposed simultaneously creating three separation negatives. A dye print positive was made from these negatives. Technicolor set the highest standard for color motion pictures and was used ca. 1932-1950. Films such as Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz were made with the Three-strip Technicolor process.
